| November 20,
Regular Meeting at Noon After three months of disaster and displacement, it's time for our group to get back into action. Our next meeting will be a potluck lunch on Sunday, November 20, at noon at the Royal Sonesta Hotel at 300 Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Rod Gates has received many new and unusual ferns for his garden and he is looking forward to showing them to us. For anyone who's concerned, Rod assures us that the French Quarter has never been safer. The Royal Sonesta is presently serving as headquarters for NOPD and other police and military units, as well as CNN and other news services. (Maybe we'll spot a celebrity!) At the November meeting we can catch up on old business and plan for the future of the club. Jackie Brewer is heading the Nominating Committee for 2006 officers. If you would like to make a nomination, or if you are interested in serving as an officer, please contact Jackie at 225-261-2767 ASAP. (Maybe we can put some of our newer members to work - ??) We will vote and elect officers for 2006 at the November meeting. |
