Monthly Meetings

The Louisiana Fern and Tropical Plant Society meets on the third Monday of each month at the University of New Orleans (UNO) Campus in building 17, the Geology Building, room GP 1000. The meetings begin at 7:30 P.M. Visitors are welcome at no charge to the monthly UNO meetings.

During the summer months, meetings are held in the field, at various locations, on Saturdays, or Sundays. The meetings usually begin at 12:00 P.M.

A Door Prize is awarded to a lucky winner at each meeting.

Members are asked to bring 2-3 ferns or related items such as growing supplies, for the raffle table. Each member will receive a free raffle ticket for each item brought.

April 16, 2007 Regular Meeting Program: Dana Brown - Sustainability Presentation Sustainable development and use of the land enables us to meet the needs of citizens today while conserving our ecosystems for the benefit of future generations of all species.  The presentation will address design of landscapes at scales ranging from a residential yard to a city and how they must interrelate and interconnect to attain sustainability.
